Remembering Sean Connery and Forgetting 'The Witches'
Monday Nov 02, 2020
Monday Nov 02, 2020
Very rarely do we see a figure as iconic as Sean Connery. Both on and off the screen, Connery's presence is unlike anything else you've ever seen. From James Bond to Henry Jones Sr., he was truly a unique actor. Nick and Collin take time to reflect on the Sexiest Man of the 20th Century and what his work has meant to us.
With not much going on at Netflix, Nick and Collin spend some time breaking down The Witches and the often confusing careers of both Robert Zemeckis and Anne Hathaway.

Sunday Oct 25, 2020
This week saw the release of the long-rumored and highly anticipated sequel to 2006's Borat. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is about as crazy as you'd expect, and a hit with Nick, Brennan, and Collin. We also talk about Bad Hair, Rebecca, Over The Moon, and a few other recent releases.
We also take some time to reflect on Quibi, a success that never was. What will become of its content? What will Hollywood learn from its failure? Who thought this was a $2 billion idea? We discuss all this and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

The Pod of the Chicago 7
Monday Oct 19, 2020
Monday Oct 19, 2020
Netflix dropped what is most likely going to be a BIG awards contender come Oscars season (if that even happens) in Aaron Sorkin's The Trial of the Chicago 7. While Hubie Halloween reigned supreme atop Netflix's top 10, we take a stab at projecting the film's awards chances, and also we discuss our lukewarm (and sometimes negative) reactions to the film and that VERY cheesy ending.
Elsewhere, Brennan and Nick and take stock in the Spider-Man 3 rumors and take a second to make fun of Liam Neeson's action movie titles. All this and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

The 'Hubie Halloween' Podtacular!
Monday Oct 12, 2020
Monday Oct 12, 2020
The most important week of the year finally upon us: Hubie Halloween has dropped on Netflix! And shockingly, it's not as bad as many of the other recent Happy Madison productions. Brennan and Nick dive deep into the film, and even discuss the prospects of the Adam Sandler Extended Universe (the ASEU™).
In none-Hubie news, we discuss Soul coming to Disney+ on Christmas Day, a new indie on HBO Max, and an underrated David Fincher gem. All this and more on this week’s episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

Podjillionaire
Monday Sep 28, 2020
Monday Sep 28, 2020
As the box office's heartbeat continues to wane, Nick and Collin take a look at Disney's latest release-date push. Everything from Kenneth Branagh's Death on the Nile to Black Widow has been pushed. With most studios skipping October, the question of whether or not November will still see the release of No Time to Die and Soul is still on everyone's mind.
Netflix, on the other hand, remains relatively unhindered by the pandemic. This week saw the release of Enola Holmes, a film that charmed both Nick and Collin greatly through the charisma of Millie Bobbie Brown and Henry Cavill. We also chat about Kajillionaire, the Evan Rachel Wood comedy from director Miranda July that had us rolling at Sundance. And to wrap things up we talk about our recent dives into the Coen Brothers and George A Romero. All this and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

Podcast of the Apes
Sunday Sep 20, 2020
Sunday Sep 20, 2020
The theatrical release train has come to a grinding halt this week. While nothing new has gained much attention, Tenet still keeps trudging along as best it can. And, reliable as always, Netflix dropped The Devil All the Time this weekend as well. Plus, as a bonus, Brennan brings the inside scoop on some of TIFF's biggest hits.
We discuss these new items plus we pay our respects to Tim Burton's classic 2001 hit, Planet of the Apes. While not our favorite Apes movie, we pay it, and the franchise's other notoriously bad sequels, some due respect. All this and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

"Poopception" and Other 'Tenet' Related Questions
Monday Sep 14, 2020
Monday Sep 14, 2020
Tenet is here, though it may not be financially performing like it, and we have questions. Nick, Brennan, and Collin dive into the unpleasantries of how bodily functions might work for someone running through time in reverse. We also discuss our thoughts on the film, as well as several other recent releases.
Later, we check in with the latest QAnon conspiracy theory, revolving around the movie Cuties. We also take a look at some TIFF releases and recent personal watches. All this and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

Fantasia Film Festival 2020 Wrap-Up!
Wednesday Sep 02, 2020
Wednesday Sep 02, 2020
One of the few silver linings of the COVID-19 pandemic is the increased flexibility in covering film festivals all over the globe, which gave MovieBabble the wonderful opportunity to cover the Fantasia Film Festival for the last two weeks. While (in a perfect, far less contaminated world) the ideal scenario would be for everyone to have the chance to see Fantasia's slate of films in person, there were still plenty of great, noteworthy, and downright strange films that deserve recognition.
In this episode of The MovieBabble Podcast, Nick and Sean share the films they saw as part of MovieBabble's Fantasia 2020 coverage, broken down into a few categories:
- The Worst Film(s)
- The Genre-iest Film(s) (the wildest films that best encapsulate the spirit of the festival)
- Documentary Spotlight
- The Best Film(s)
- Odds and Ends

Remembering Chadwick Boseman and Returning to Theaters
Monday Aug 31, 2020
Monday Aug 31, 2020
Chadwick Boseman's death has rocked the industry and left millions mourning. Nick and Collin take some time to reflect on who he was and what his career means to us and so many others. He was an actor of a caliber and class rarely seen, he will be missed dearly.
Later, we debate whether or not The New Mutants is a real movie. We also discuss The Personal History of David Copperfield and its effortless charm. Nick and Collin also shame ourselves with the admission that neither of us has seen a Bill and Ted film, including this week's Bill and Ted Face the Music.
We also talk Hail Caesar!, Lawrence of Arabia, Indiana Jones, This is the End, and more!
