‘Paddington 2′ Is the Best Movie Ever Made, ‘Mortal Kombat’, and ‘Bullitt’

A recently discovered 80-year-old review ruined Citizen Kane's 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, vaulting Paddington 2 to the top of the site's rating system. The news once again brought up the discussion of the value of Rotten Tomatoes in film criticism, and Collin, Brennan, and Nick offer their two cents.

The team also talks Mortal Kombat and The Mitchells vs. the Machines, before discussing 1968's Bullitt as part of this week's Babble Movie Club!

The Cinerama Dome Shutters Its Doors and the Gang Watches ‘After Hours’

Earlier this week it was both shockingly and suddenly revealed that Arclight Cinemas and the Cinerama Dome would be closing their doors. Nick, Brennan, and I discuss this crushing blow to the Hollywood moviegoing experience and what it might mean going forward.

Not to be fixated on the negative, Nick also breaks down Ben Wheatley's In the Earth which released this week, and the three of us discuss our recent watch of Martin Scorsese's After Hours.

Did ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Just Revive Theaters? Plus, ‘Thunder Force’ and ‘The Hunt’ (2012)

Are movie theaters back?!?! Godzilla vs. Kong has dominated around the world at the box office thus far, grossing almost as much as Godzilla: King of the Monsters did in its entire theatrical run in only two weeks. Does this point to theaters coming back in a BIG way post-pandemic?

Along with the financials, Brennan and Nick talk about the glorious stupidity within the film itself. Afterward, Nick struggles to talk through the latest Ben Falcone-Melissa McCarthy dud, Thunder Force, and the duo breaks down the fantastic Danish film The Hunt starring Mads Mikkelsen in our latest edition of Babble Movie Club™! ‘Nobody’, ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, ‘The Suicide Squad’, ‘Funny Face’, and Important Predictions

It's been a busy week for both movies and movie-related news. Disney+ dropped episode two of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but that's not all. Not only did we get the release of Bob Odenkirk's Nobody, but we also saw the re-re-release of Zack Snyder's Justice League. These monstrous events are coupled with the debut of James Gunn's The Suicide Squad trailer and the cuddliest looking apex predator you've ever seen.

Nick Kush and Collin Willis break down what we've seen and offer commentary on the latest that Marvel and DC have to offer. And after fawning over Bob Odenkirk for a minute we return to the Babble Movie Club!, with this week's pick, Funny Face.

All this and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ and ‘Grave of the Fireflies’

This weekend saw the digital release of a long-rumored, heavily speculated, and reportedly expensive restoration of Justice League. Zack Snyder's original vision became complete through HBO Max, and Brennan and Collin (plus a surprise guest) are here to talk about it in all of its 4:3 glory.

Though #TheSnyderCut isn't the only topic of discussion, as we continue with our latest segment and discuss Studio Ghibli's Grave of the Fireflies. This 1988 tragedy moved Brennan and Collin both as they discuss its pertinent themes in grand detail.

The 2021 Razzie Nominations, The Return of Theaters(?), and ‘Mikey and Nicky’

Because Brennan and Nick can't escape awards talk, they break down the 2021 Razzie nominations, which are full of noms for 365 Days, Dolittle, and Mike Lindell's "documentary". Who will "win" the coveted awards? Should the Razzies be disbanded for nominating Hubie Halloween?

We're also beginning to see positive returns at movie theaters once again, especially in China. Are theaters going to come back better than ever? And lastly, in the pod's still yet-to-be-titled segment, Brennan and Nick discuss Nick's streaming pick for the week, Elaine May's Mickey and Nicky
