Our Most Anticipated Films of 2021!
Saturday Jan 23, 2021
Saturday Jan 23, 2021
COVID-19 fundamentally changed how we watched films in 2020. Many of our favorite movies of the year opted for streaming and on-demand releases, and a good portion of cinemas across the globe closed. Much of this change is sure to carry over into 2021, but that doesn't mean movies have gone away. Even with all possible caveats, 2021 still projects to have many bright spots in film.
Tune in to this episode of MovieBabble Presents: Babble With Brennan and hear what our most anticipated films of 2021 are, including some films that were on our most anticipated lists last year.

Monday Jan 18, 2021
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Following a brief theatrical debut in December, Regina King's One Night in Miami has arrived on Amazon Prime Video. The director's debut film is a strong addition to an already fantastic career. Not to be outdone, Disney+ also dropped the first two episodes of WandaVision. Nick and Collin breakdown the show and what this new blend of TV and film means for the MCU.
Not to be left out, Nick gives us his hot takes on Doug Liman and his latest, Locked Down, while offering us no insight on Pinkfong and Baby Shark's Space Adventure. All this and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

Pieces of a Woman has arrived as Netflix's first big 2021 release. Amid troubles surrounding Shia LaBeouf, the film debuted in the #2 Spot on Netflix's Top Ten List. Falling short of We Can Be Heroes, the Vanessa Kirby-led drama is a standout among an unusually solid Netflix lineup.
We break down some other hits on the list, including Catch Me If You Can, as well as Wolfwalkers, the career of Bryan Bertino, and our favorite felted frog.

2020 is mercilessly over, but before we close the book entirely on the very, very hellish year, Collin, Brennan, and Nick look back on the year that was in movies. But instead of doing the usual bests and worsts of the year, we broke down our superlatives into the following COVID-related categories:
- Best Theatrical Experience
- Favorite Unexpected Quarantine Binge
- Best Netflix Original Movie
- Best Popcorn Flick
- The Movie We're Most Happy Didn't Suck
- Weirdest Movie Moment

'Wonder Woman 1984' and 'Soul' Lead a Packed Christmas Slate
Monday Dec 28, 2020
Monday Dec 28, 2020
For all the movies that have been pushed back this year, Christmas Day felt like a return to normalcy with releases such as Wonder Woman 1984, Soul, The Midnight Sky, Promising Young Woman, and We Can Be Heroes. Such buzzy movies led us to the following questions:
- How does WW84 stack up to Wonder Woman?
- Where does Soul rank among Pixar's filmography?
- Why is George Clooney so sad?
- And, have the memes gone too far?
We discuss all this and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!

Monday Dec 07, 2020
Monday Dec 07, 2020
In a shocking announcement earlier this week, Warner Bros. made it clear that their 2021 slate of releases would all drop simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. Brennan and Collin talk about which films this applies to, and what it might mean for theaters. We also discuss our thoughts on how this impacts the way we watch movies and what longer-term viability and repercussions it may have.
As usual, we run down the Netflix Top Ten for the week and lament over Mank's absence on the coveted list. Finally, we tackle The Godfather III, or The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone.

Sunday Nov 29, 2020
Sunday Nov 29, 2020
After months of news and court proceedings, Johnny Depp is out of the Fantastic Beasts franchise. The good news is that his replacement has been found in none other than Mads Mikkelsen. Nick and Collin break down their thoughts on both the Danish actor and the franchise he's now a part of.
Nick and Collin also discuss Netflix's latest releases, The Christmas Chronicles 2 and Hillbilly Elegy, along with the enduring charm of Kurt Russell and the consistency(?) of Ron Howard.

Monday Nov 23, 2020
It turns out we're going to have a new superhero movie in 2020 after all. Wonder Woman 1984 is headed to HBO Max on Christmas, but is this a risky financial move? Will a boost in subscribers be enough to offset the possible theatrical gains?
Elsewhere, Vanessa Hudgens is dominating Netflix with the release of The Princess Switch: Switched Again. Is she making a long-term move towards elevated Hallmark content?

Election Week and the Horrifying Dog in 'Toy Story'
Monday Nov 09, 2020
Monday Nov 09, 2020
Election week has devoured all other media in its path. Brennan and Collin discuss their week as they watched the results pile in while Nick is notably absentee (perhaps helping the Biden Crime family steal the election?).
This week saw the release of Let Him Go, a film that could end up being the final "big" movie of the year. It also saw the theatrical re-releases of both Goldfinger and Toy Story. Brennan and Collin pitch in their two cents on each film and more on this week's episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!
